Sytner dealership holds fundraiser for bereavement support

Guy Salmon Jaguar Land Rover Bristol is aiding CRUSE Bereavement Support.

Each time the Sytner dealership launches a fundraiser, different charities are chosen, and each charity is either local or has a connection to colleagues.

After seeing ‘paint your own’ cars, the dealership thought this would be a great idea for a fundraiser, getting colleagues and customers to paint a small car for a small donation, to be in with the chance of winning the grand prize.

All of the cars are now available for individuals to buy, all proceeds will go to CRUSE.

Katie Harris, dealership administrator at Guy Salmon Jaguar Land Rover Bristol, said: “We decided to ask our colleagues which charity they would like to suggest to make a donation and the CRUSE charity stood out for us as they had helped one of our colleagues.

“We had a lot of entries which was great so we split into adult and children categories to get two winners, raising over £150 for this great charity and hopefully we will manage to raise more through the sale of the painted cars.”

CRUSE is the UK’s leading bereavement charity with 30,000 helpline calls answered each year, 4000 volunteers across England, Wales and Northern Ireland and 24,000 people receiving individual support in 2021 so far.

The charity helps people through one of the most painful times in life with bereavement support, information and campaigning.

Simon Crane, head of business at Guy Salmon Jaguar Land Rover Bristol, added: “It’s great that we’re able to support CRUSE and all of the fantastic work they do. Bereavement is a horrible thing to go through so the charity’s free helpline and counselling really does help individuals through a truly tough time.

“As the UK’s largest prestige motor retail group, we want to lead the way, not only in delighting customers and colleagues, but in the support for the communities in the areas in which we work.”
