Ben Ball raises £120k for automotive community in crisis

The Ben Ball raised £120,000 through auctions in to support members of the automotive community who are struggling or in crisis.

The annual black tie event was held on Wednesday 7 December and supported by AutoTrader.

This year, the event moved across London to its new home at Old Billingsgate Market – a venue in the heart of the City on the north bank of the Thames.

Ben also shared the latest update with guests on the Industry Leader Challenge – The Climb – which saw a team of 15 industry leaders scale Kilimanjaro to raise money for Ben.

The event also gave an insight into the vast increase in demand that Ben is experiencing, as more people than ever before are reaching out for help with their finances, due to the cost-of-living crisis.

The funds raised on the night exceeded last year and is one of the highest Ben Ball fundraising totals.

Matt Wigginton, director of partnerships, engagement and income at Ben, said: “I’m blown away by the support we’ve received at this year’s Ben Ball.

“It really is tough times out there for everyone at the moment, so this means the world to us and those we support.

“All funds raised will go to supporting those in the industry who are struggling right now – and people really are struggling. This support is life-changing and life-saving. People are having to make an impossible choice between eating or heating this winter and that’s a choice no-one should have to make.”
